MAP Design

LOCATION: KATHMANDU I NEPAL

MAP is a design practice based in Washington DC. Our Kathmandu office is looking for senior architects with in-depth experience in delivering diverse portfolio of projects in accordance to the practice’s procedure and standards. This position offers the opportunity to join at partnership level after three satisfactory years of tenure in the practice.

Responsibilities
To assist in the design, planning and in particular the delivery phase of high quality buildings that are climate dependent and environmentally conscious. Manage, motivate and coordinate the internal project team throughout the design, documentation and construction process. Coordinate activities relating to project. Lead, coordinate and integrate the work of members of external project team and associated professional, contractors and suppliers. Fulfill the practice’s overall objective in producing world class architecture on time and budget.

Minimum requirements
Bachelor in Architecture
Licensed in one of the municipalities of Kathmandu Valley
Minimum 5 years of experience in site supervision and developing working drawings for large–scale projects
Proficient in CAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Legally able to work in the country in which the position is based

Desirable qualifications
Master in Architecture
Prior experience working in an international firm
Sketchup and/or other 3D modeling skills
LEED certified

Mandatory skills and qualities
Ability to manage the in-house team and external consultants
Ability to guide and mentor junior architects
Strong organizational skills and record keeping
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of project financials vis-à-vis time and budget
Flexible and open to new ways of working
Self-motivated and commitment for lifelong learning
